Attributions & data sources

SaunaPass is built on data from several providers. We're grateful to them and the open-data community. Attributions also appear in context (for example, on the map).

Maps

Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). We build and host our own vector map tiles from that data using Planetiler and the OpenMapTiles schema, rendered with MapLibre GL. Map fonts are Noto Sans, licensed under the SIL Open Font License.

Places

Venue details are sourced mainly from each venue's own website and other public sources. We use Google Maps Platform (the Places API) to help find venues and confirm they exist, and we keep only Google's place identifiers. We do not store or show any other Google content, including names, addresses, ratings, reviews or photos. Some location data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, made available under the Open Database License (ODbL).

Water quality

Bathing water quality classifications are provided by the Environment Agency, licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. These are official annual classifications — always check live conditions before swimming.
